WEDDING

SHAW—ANDREWS. White and cyclamen pink were the colours chosen by bride and maids at a wedding recently solemnised at Knox Church, Masterton, the bride being Joan Mary, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs D. F. Andrews, Essex Street, Masterton, and the bridegroom Roy Newman, only son of Mr and Mrs J. Shaw, “Glenroy,” Masterton. The bride wore a charming gown of pure white embossed satin, and her misty tulle veil fell from a topknot of white velvet camellias, her beautiful bouquet being white roses, chrysanthemums and nerine lilies. Attending her as bridesmaid was her sister Peggy, and Mrs Alan Keir, sister of the bridegroom, as matron of honour. They were frocked alike in draped gowns of cyclamen pink, and wore charming head-dresses of toning osprey feathers. They carried sheaf bouquets of lemon chrysanthemums, cyclamen, and delphiniums. Mr J. Whitton attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr lan Shaw as groomsman. The ushers at the church were Messrs Rex Shaw and 0. Jansen. Mrs Andrews, wearing a smart ensemble of black, assisted by Mrs Shaw, who wore a mulberry ensemble, received the guests at a reception held at the Empire Hotel. For travelling the bride chose a tailored suit of teal blue, trimmed with touches of fur, with toning hat and black accessories.
