DEAD SET

MADE BV THE GERMANS AGAINST CAPTAIN JAMES ROOSEVELT. REPEATED PLANE ATTACKS ON CAR & QUARTERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. Apparently the Germans have made a dead set to get President Roosevelt’s son (Captain James Roosevelt), who is visiting Iraq, says the British United Press Cairo correspondent. Twice, at Habbinia, German pianos attacked Captain Roosevelt's car. On the first occasion, three Heinkels swooped, rained bombs on the car and forced it to turn back—to safety. Later four Messerschmitts dived to 200 feet spraying machinc-gun bullets around the car. Captain Roosevelt jumped out and flung himself flat in the sand. In addition, Captain Roosevelt's quarters were bombed and machinegunned.
