Flying Officer H. C. Leese, formerly stationed at Woodbourne, has been appointed adjutant at the R.N.Z.A.F. No. 2 Elementary Flying Training School. Bell Block.
Corporal Winstone Daniell is reported among those missing in Greece. He enlisted in the Waikato and is the fourth son of Mr and Mrs F. C. Daniell, of Masterton. Mr and Mrs W. Henderson, of 36 Perry Street, Masterton, have received word that their son, Gunner Frederick Henderson, who left New Zealand with the First Echelon, is reported missing. The Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, Bishop of Waikato, arrived at New Plymouth on Saturday night. He visited Uruiti yesterday morning, and in the evening he preached at St. Mary’s Church, New Plymouth. Today he will preside at the annual meeting of the Taranaki Archdeaconry Board. Mr Alan B. Alclwell, a former New Zealander, who is now an attorney in San Francisco, has been appointed executive secretary of the State Bar of California. For the last two years he has been employed by the State Bar as secretary to the Committee on Administration of Justice. Mr Aidwell was born in Wellington 30 years ago. and is the only son ‘of the late Captain Basil Aldwell. captain of many Union Company ships.
