SINKING OF ZAMZAM
STRONG PROTEST BY EGYPT TO BERLIN. FULL COMPENSATION DEMANDED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) CAIRO. May 22. The Egyptian Government has strongly protested to Berlin against the sinking of the ship Zamzam. and demanded full compensation. A communique states that the Egyptian Government had received news that the Zamzam had been sunk by a German naval unit while flying the Egyptian flag. It entered a strong protest' against this infringement of international law, and reserved full rights for itself in the matter. It was also announced that the Egyptian Government had taken measures to secure the repatriation of its nationals on board the Zamzam.
