HOSPITAL SHIP ATTACKED BY NAZIS. ONE ENEMY PLANE SHOT DOWN. ißritish Official Wireless.i RUGBY. May 21. German planes attacked the hospital ship Aba (7937 tons), formerly.an Elder Dempster steamer, which wirelessed:-— “Am being attacked by enemy planes.’ Steaming to the scene, British warships mol the hospital ship after three hours and a half, and found that she had escaped despite eight “near misses." Forty minutes afterward eight Junkers 87's returned to the attack, dive-bomb-ing both the hospital ship and one war-i ship. Dazzling light made it hard to find the target for anti-aircraft gunlire, but no direct hits wore scored on either ship, though there were several "near miss-, os." A riddled enemy plane was later] seen plunging into the sea.
