HELIGOLAND BOMBED EROM LOW LEVEL CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE. * DAYLIGHT raid on occupied FRANCE. I By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, May 22. R.A.F. bombers dived low to make an attack on Heligoland from a height of 40 and 50 feet. A battery of four guns was put out of ac.tjon and damage was done to docks on the south side of the island and to objectives in the centre of the town. One plane is missing. Another force of bombers, escorted by fighters, made a raid on occupied France yesterday and attacked an oil refinery and power station near Bethune. Six .lighters and one bomber were lost. Five enemy fighters- were destroyed. Few enemy aircraft were reported over Britain today. Bombs were dropped on a Sussex village, where there were some casualties. One enemy lighter was shot down this morning.
