CARTERTON
MAGISTRATE’S COURT CIVIL AND OTHER CASES. . ("Times-Age” Speci.nl.) The monthly sitting of the Carterton Magistrate's Court, presided over by Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., was held yesterday. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following civil cases: Hilland Hughes v. F. A. Wilson, claim £lO 18s, with costs £3 Gs; T.S.C. and G. W. Garrity v. E. Whiteman, claim £l3 Is 4d, costs £3; Dr. W. J. C. Wells v. D. Mclntyre, claim £5 9s, costs £1 Ils 6d. In a judgment summons case, T. Wagg and Co., Ltd. v. J. 13. Johns, claim £l7 13s 3d. defendant was ordered to pay the amount forthwith, in default 17 days in Wellington gaol, with costs £1 Is. C. S. Nicholson, traffic inspector, prosecuted Arthur Hobbs for failing to produce a current warrant of fitness. Defendant was convicted and fined 10s, costs 10s.

There is sure to be a large gathering of supporters of the maroon jersey to enterrain these two members. Card Evening. The Boy Scout executive held its weekly card evening in the Band Room last evening. The prizes were won by Mrs Holland 1, Mrs Ticehurst Senr. 2; Messrs T'awhai and A. Patterson won the prizes in the 'men's division. I
