NEW NUMBER PLATES
ISSUE AT MASTERTON POST OFFICE. There is a steady stream of applicants at the Masterton Post Office for new number plates for use as from June 1. Up to 5 o’clock last night 777 sets of plates had been issued, as compared with 796 in the corresponding period last year. Although this shows a decrease of 19 to date this year, it is considered that the position is quite good, as it is not expected .hat the same number of motor vehicles will be licensing in the coming year as was the case last year. Motorists are urged if they wish to avoid any undue delay, to make early application for their plates. A special staff, has been detailed for this task, which will be made easier all round, especially in view of the war conditions. if the plates are secured before the inevitable last-minute rush at the end of the month.
