PIRINOA
WATER SUPPLY HIGH PRESSURE PUMP. (“Times-Age” Special.) A powerful high pressure pump is being installed at the source of _ the water supply which serves the Pirinoa settlement. Hitherto the supply has been unsatisfactory, but with the installation of the latest pumping apparatus it is expected the inconvenience will be obviated. The supply serves a fairly wide area. Home Guard. 1 Owing to various difficulties having arisen it has been decided to revert to Wednesday evening as parade night for the local Home Guard. Cheese Output. The output of cheese at the local cheese factory at this period of the season is considerably higher than was the case at the corresponding part of last season. The output for the whole season is expected to be most satisfactory. Golf. The following is the draw for a bogey competition to be played by members of the Pirinoa Golf Club at the weekend. Ladies: Mrs Sutherland v Mrs Carter; Mrs Bragg v Mrs McKenzie; Mrs Cox v Mrs Thomas; Mrs Stewart v Miss McDougall; Mrs Hirangi v Mrs Tikao. Men: W. Stewart v M. McLeod; J. Rewai v M. Hirangi; D. Tikao v T. Hume; M. Waiwera v G. Sutherland; D. Didsbury v'S. Thomas: J. Carter v S. Hall; G. Hall v W. Charteris: F. Lovegrove v O. Charteris; R. Lovegrove v M. Hume.
