WASH YOUR FOUNDATIONS
FOUR RULES TO REMEMBER. Your foundations are the most flattering garments in your wardrobe, so cherish them as you would a rich uncle and add to their days of usefulness and beauty by washing them in the proper way. Swot these rules: — Wash them before they look as if they need it. They will wear longer if they are swished through gentle suds once a week-.
Use only the best soap flakes. Work up a heavy lather in hot water, reduce heat to just warm, squeeze the lather through th£ fabric repeatedly then rinse in several waters (warm) or until the water is quite clear. Roll foundations in a towel to absorb most of the water. Don’t ring or squeeze. Then spread them on a thick towel and dry away from artificial heat. Don’t iron any elastic or skintex. The satin, net, faille, or other fabric insets can be pressed on the wrong side with a cool iron. If you renew shoulder straps be sure to make them the exact length of those that were adjusted for you when you were fitted. Four simple and easily remembered notions that you may as well—for your future glamour's sake —tuck into your thinking cap.
