After six months abroad, investigating scientific aspects of the war. Dr. E. Marsden, head of the Scientific Research Department, returned by the Monterey, lie said he was greatly impressed with developments in the United States and much admired the efficiency and spirit of helpfulness ruling in that country. Dr. Marsden said possibilities arising from the newer developments in the radio and electrical industries t/?re highly important. America had tremendous resources and an unlimited capacity for the mass production of technical gear. The country was now the economic and technical centre of world expansion. Its aid was just beginning to become effective and encouraged a real hope for a reasonably speedy decision in the war.

In Britain the old barriers had gone. There was an earnestness everywhere to serve. Many Now Zealanders in both Britain and America were occupying important positions and were taking active parts in the war effort. They were a great team of workers and extremely well respected.
