WELLINGTON MURDER TRIAL SUBMISSION BY COUNSEL FOR DEFENCE. VITAL QUESTION FOR JURY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The trial of Leonard Nailing for the alleged murder of Mrs Marjory Livingston Horton entered its final stages today. The examination of Dr. A. E. Park, called for the defence, concluded, and at their request the jury were taken to the spot where Mrs Horton was found. Addressing the jury. Mr W. E. Leicester icounsel for the defence) said the jury might hold the view that accused was not a particularly worthy individual. He had served part of a sentence for breaking and entering, and at the time of his sentence was on probationary licence. If he did not invite Mrs Horton to accompany him to Oriental Bay, at least he readily enough accompanied her at her suggestion, but. said Mr Leicester, the jury was not concerned so- much with the worthiness or unworthiness of an individual as with the vital question whether the Crown had or had not established beyond all reasonable doubt that accused was guilty of murder.
