TERMS FROM HITLER
REPORTED ACCEPTANCE BY VICHY FOLLOWING ON DARLAN’S NEGOTIATIONS. DETAILS NOT DISCLOSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON. May 14. Today Marshal Petain had a lengthy conference with Admiral Darlan, after which it was officially announced that the Cabinet will meet today to discuss the terms the admiral has brought from Hitler. A later message states that the terms have been accepted by Vichy, but that lheir nature is not disclosed.
It is reported from Vichy that Admiral Leahy, the United States Ambassador. yesterday warned Marshal Petain against supplying Germany with any military aid. The report says the warning was given during a 60-minute conference before Admiral Darlan returned from his visit to Herr Hitler.
