LOCAL BODY POLLS
WAIRARAPA DISTRICT ELECTIONS
VOTING ON SATURDAY.
BOROUGH & COUNTY ISSUES.
Polling will take place on Saturday for the election of local body representatives in various parts of the Wairarapa. In several districts no polls are required.
In Masterton borough voters are called upon to elect eleven borough councillors, out of fourteen candidates and three representatives on the Wairarapa Hospital Board, for which four candidates are standing. Polls are also necessary for the return of borough councillors at Martinborough, Greytown and Eketahuna.
In county areas, voting will take place for the election of four representatives for the West Riding of the Eketahuna County Council and for three Eketahuna County representatives on the Tararua Power Board; for the election of three representatives on the East Riding of the Mauriceville County Council, and for the Wairarapa South. County Council's representative on the Wairarapa Power Board, Voting will take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
