Mrs Bindley, Pownall Street, Masterton, is visiting Waipukurau. Miss Skelly, Carterton, is the guest of Mrs F. Tatham, Homewood. Miss Holland, Havelock North, is slaying with Mrs W. R. Birch, Taueru. Mrs M. Cleghorn, Cole Street, Masterton, is spending the holidays at Lower Hutt.

Mrs C. Waddy, Blenheim, is staying with her sister, Mrs H. W. Rishworth, Cornwall Street, Masterton. Miss J. Sellar, Renall Street, Masterton, is spending a few days in Wellington. ’

Captain and Mrs P. Brookes, Wellington, were the guests of’Mr and Mrs A. H. Tinkham, Masterton, during the week-end.

Mrs Ann Hubbard, who was 102 years old on April 30. died at Waimate on Monday after one of the few illnesses of her long life. Born in 1838 in Foulsham. England, she came to New Zealand with her husband, George Hubbard, and six children, landing in surf-boats at Timaru in 1874. After a few years they removed to Waimate and bought a farm on the outskirts of the town. Widowed in 1919 Mrs Hubbard still lived at her old home, leaving only in 1930, after 60 years, to reside with a daughter. The survivors of her family of 12 number 7.

Mrs Jessie Watt, Wanganui’s oldest resident, will attain her 100th birthday tomorrow. With one short interval she has resided in that city for 78 years. Mrs-Watt enjoyed the best, of health till some months ago. when she met with an accident and is now in a nursing home. She was born in Glasgow and came to New Zealand in 1862 to join a brother who had settled at Wanganui. Soon after she married the late Mr Andrew Watt, a farmer in the neighbourhood. Of Mrs Watt's eight children, only four are now living. Her husband died about ten years ago, at the age of over 90.
