COLOURING A PICTURE
REGENT THEATRE CONTEST. A novel contest was conducted by the Regent Theatre in connection with the all-colour production "North West Mounted Police." Over five hundred entries were received from the enthusiastic young artists of the district and the standard of work was highly commended by the judge, a well known art instructor of Masterton. The successful competitors were: Shirley Anderson (Lansdowne School) 1; Betty Gray (Wairarapa College) 2; Bernice Dixon (Wairarapa College) 3: Gwen Donaldson (Lansdowne School) 4. Consolation prizes were awarded as follows: Patsy Fitzwater (East); Betty Barnes (Central); Patricia Barr (Carterton District High); Sedgeley Bannister Wairarapa College); Marie Ols (St. Patrick’s); Mcrvyn Graham (Lansdowne); Neville Burridge (West); Patricia Mason (College); Keith Olson (St. Patrick’s): David Corry (St. Bride’s): Melva McPherson (College)Kathleen Brewster (Central); Charle* Groombridge (Central); Norma Saunders (St. Bride’s); Brian Shaw (Lans-1 dvwne): and Earry Barnes (Central)
