ALFREDTON
YOUNG FARMERS ADDRESS ON BEE KEEPING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Alfredton Young Farmers’ Club. Delegates were elected to attend the annual executive meeting in Masterton. Delegates were also elected to take part in the stock judging competitions at Carterton. It was decided that club members should take part in the .experimental seed and fertiliser trials. . The speaker for the evening was Mr Duffy, who gave an interesting talk on bee keeping. He gave details of the Black and the Italian bee, the latter being the most popular and referred to the difference between the drones and the workers and the general life of the bees.
At the conclusion of the address Mr L. Algie moved a vote of thanks to Mr Duffy, which was carried by acclamation.
