RETURNED SOLDIERS

ANNUAL REUNION.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

The members of the local .Returned Soldiers’ Association held their annual reunion in the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Saturday night, when there was a large number president, including visitors from the Pahiatua branch. The vicepresident. Mr A. B. Fordyce, was in the chair, and a happy time was spent. The following toast list was honoured: —“The King;” “Army, Navy and Air Force,” proposed by Mr M. Morriss, replied to by Mr M. Clarkson; "Local Bodies,” Mr Fordyce—-Mr W. Olsen; “N.Z.R.5.A.,” Mr A. H. Herbert —Mr M. P. Shale; "Kindred Associations,” Mr A. Golder —Mr M. Lawson; "The Ladies,” Mr S. Daniel—Mr W. Hornblow; “South African Veterans.” Mr W. Pryde—Messrs J. Remnent and J. Bilby; “The President,” Mr A. B. Fordyce—Mr S. H. Herbert. , During the evening much appreciati ed items were given by the following: Messrs M. Smith, B. Mountjoy, R. Walters, T. Hooper, B. McAlister, F. Robinson, H. Eailey and K. Marenzi. PLUNKET SOCIETY MONTHLY MEETING. At the monthly meeting of the local Plunket Society Mrs Albrechtsen presided. 1 Accounts amounting to £2 6s 5d were passed for payment. A competition was finalised in which < an eiderdown (presented by Mrs J. < McAnulty) was won by Selwyn Hig- I ginson. The committee acknowledge the fol- < lowing subscriptions:—Miss A.
