TE ORE ORE

HOME GUARD DANCE AN ENJOYABLE GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at a dance held at the meeting house, Te Ore Ore, on Saturday night in aid of the local Home Guard funds. The music was supplied by Te Tau’s Melody Makers and the duties of M.’sC. were carried out by Messrs T. Te Tau and G. Pura. Novelty dances were held and supper was served by the ladies’ committee. A most enjoyable time was spent by those present. Since the meeting house has been opened, states the secretary of the committee, Mrs R. Te Tau, it has been put to an excellent use as functions have been held by which to raise money for the interior decorating. In addition such gatherings brought members of the Maori race together at social functions.
