FASHION BREEZES
For rainy days a hooded oilcloth coat is lined with bright blue flannel. Piguet’s short swaggering topcoat in blue has a draw-string through the middle. For a jacket suit purple, green, and white checks clash in the autumn sun. Leather is used for the belt and buttons on a tailored crepe frock with classic revers. A travelling-suit for cooler days in I brown and white wool has a long cardigan jacket with big patch pockets. Lollipop colours are used for a pure silk plaid surah for an autumn suit. For a winter topcoat a tweed wool in wheat and white diagonal stripes. To wear with suits this autumn a pastel felt hat decorated with brilliant flowers made of open lacquered pods. Look for a new colour approach next spring, when you will probably be all neutral in beige from head to foot; or two shades of beige differing ever so slightly—beige with white and beige with cocoa. That old friend and flatterer the dolman sleeve is back on coats, suits, and dresses. Let a frilly jabot froth under your chin this autumn, or have an upstanding collar that makes you hold your head high.
