OBITUARY

MR D. J. SEARANCKE. The death occurred at the New Plymouth Hospital yesterday of Douglas James Searancke. younger son of Mr and Mrs W. R. Searancke, Colombo Road, Masterton. The late Mr Searancke who was 20 years of age was educated at the Whatman School and at the Wairarapa High School, and was well-known in Masterton as an association football player of great talent. He took a full part in other sporting activities. Mr Searancke left Masterton four years ago to take up a position in the Agricultural Department. He was transferred to Hastings some time ago and had been again transferred to New Plymouth. He had been at New Plymouth a week when he suddenly became ill and died in hospital. The funeral will take place in Masterion tomorrow, leaving the residence of the deceased’s parents. 138 Colombo Road at 2 o’clock for the Masterton Cemetery.
