COURSING

NORTH ISLAND ST LEGER STAKE. On Saturday, May 24, the Wairarapa Coursing Club will control the North Island St Leger classic event for puppies of either sex. This meeting will bring together the best puppies of the North Island. Although nominations will not close until Wednesday, May 21, they are already coming in freely and a full list of 16 entrants Is expected to contest the stake. An open stake will also be run on the same date. This should give an indication of the form of the open dogs which will be competing at the big championship meeting on July 3, 4 and 5.

Members and supporters are reminded of the hare drive to be held at Manaia on Sunday morning. Cars will leave Harcombe’s at 8.30.
