APPEALS FROM DECISIONS OF AUTHORITIES SIR F. FRAZER TO INQUIRE & REPORT. ANNOUNCEMENT BY MR SEMPLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ’ CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The appointment of Sir Francis Frazer to inquire into and report on all appeals from the decisions of the Transport Licensing Authorities was announced by the Minister of Transport (Mr Semple) today. Mr Semple said that in view of his appointment as Minister of Railways, and as many appeals concerned the Railways Department, the Government considered that some change in the existing appeal procedure was desirable. Sir Frazer had accordingly been invited to inquire into appeals on his behalf. Sir F. Frazer was admirably suited for the position by reason of his former experience as Judge of the Court of Arbitration, his sound knowledge of transport and his experience as chairman of the original Transport Appeal Board. The work would be carried out by Sir F. Frazer in addition to his present important function on the Executive Commission of Agriculture. LOCAL SITTING LICENCES AMENDED & TRANSFERRED. There was a brief sitting of No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr P. Skoglund) at the Masterton Courthouse this afternoon. The license of W. Wong, Carterton, was amended to enable applicant to carry fruit and vegetables to Wellington. Mr R. McKenzie appeared for Wong. A transfer was granted of goods service licence from C. G. Wenden to L. G. Rasmussen, Featherston. M. S. Howard's taxi service licence was transferred to T. C. C. Lambess. Mr N. G. Whiteman appeared for Howard. F. C. Davey’s taxi licence was transferred to C. K. Burling.
