KING AS MARKSMAN
GOOD SHOOTING WITH TOMMY GUN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 1. The King demonstrated his ability as a marksman when, with the Queen standing nearby, he fired 20 rounds with a tommy gun during a visit to a range in the south of England. Of three shots fired front the shoulder, one narrowly missed the target, a wooden silhouette of the figure of a man, and the other two hit the figure in the neighbourhood of the heart. The remaining 17 shots the King fired in two bursts from the hip. spraying the target from side to side. The King and Queen also visited an establishment for the training of officers for staff duties, and watched an instructional film, one purpose of which was to show the best methods of attacking German tanks and planes.
