ALL-ROUND INCREASE FOR YEAR. SUBSTANTIAL EXCESS OF EXPORTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. For the financial year ended March 31, exports show a very sharp increase, while imports also increased. Exports during March totalled £6.408,000, compared with £7,265,000 in March, 1940, a decrease of £857,000. Imports for the month totalled £3,934,000, against £2,728,000 in March, 1940, an increase of £1.206,000. For the month there was an excess of exports over imports of £2,474,000. compared with an excess of £4,537.000 in March, 1940. For the financial year ’ ended March 31, exports were valued at £71,180.000. compared with £59,643,000 in the previous year, an increase of £11,537,000. Imports for the year amounted to £47,918,000. compared with £45.571,000 in the previous year, an increase of £2.347.000. The excess of exports for the year wa5'£23.262,000, compared with £14,072,000 in 1939-40, an increase of £9,190.000.
