SHOT IN CHEST
ACCIDENT AT GLADSTONE. VICTIM IN MASTER TON HOSPITAL. ("Times-Age" Special.) Gordon Bornholdt, Lower Hutt, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital this morning with a bullet in his chest as Hie result of a shooting accident at the Gladstone Hotel last night. On inquiry this morning it was learnt that Mr Bornholdt’s condition was satisfactory. Mr Bornholdt and his two brothers were visiting the Gladstone district for the opening of the shooting season. Some time after .11 o’clock last night the three brothers handled a pea rifle outside the Gladstone Hotel. It appears that the rifle discharged and the bullet injured one in the finger and then struck Mr G. Bornholdt. who was some distance away, in the chest. Dr. W. J. C. Wells of Carterton, treated the injured man and he was subsequently taken to the Masterton hospital.
