SHOOTING SEASON OPENING TOMORROW. The duck and swan shooting season opens tomorrow. Already many shooters have prepared their maimais and all is in readiness for the opening of 'he season. The weather at the momin! is not what sportsmen would like, because in fine weather, after a few rounds have been fired, the birds take to the air, and go further out into the lake or make for sancturics. Nevertheless reports indicate that there is an increase in the numbers of ducks and swans on the Wairarapa Lake this season, due principally, it is stated, to the short season last year and a good breeding season. The season will last for a fortnight only. There is a shortage of cartridges this year and only limited supplies are available.
