ANTI-SHRINKAGE PROCESS. PERFECTED IN BRITAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 30. Half a million pairs of socks a week are being treated at the cost of an extra penny'. The penny paid enables 20 times longer wear. Last year socks thickened after washing, causing lameness, but the new process keeps the wool soft. •Women will be unable to take advantage of ■ the process till after the war.
