A cablegram has been received from Mr R. G. Menzies, reading: “In the face of the present situation I urge the imperative necessity for a completely united national effort. I again call upon all political parties in Australia to close their ranks and form a truly national war administration.”
MEETING SHORTLY COMMONWEALTH PARLIAMENT. WAR CABINET DECISION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, April 22. The Acting-Prime Minister of Australia, Mr Fadden. announced in Canberra today that the War Cabinet had decided to summon Parliament shortly so that the war situation could be faced frankly and resolutely.
