MASTERTON. AIRMAN

REPORTED TO BE MISSING. SERGT. PILOT J. H, H.AMILL, Advice has been received in Masterton to the effect that Sergt. Pilot J. H. Hamill, son of Mr and Mrs P. Hamill, of Perry Street, has been reported missing in air operations. Sergt. Pilot Hamill, who. is wellknown in Masterton, joined up with the Civil Reserve of Pilots early in 1938 and gained his A licence the same year. On the declaration of war, he commenced training for the Royal New Zealancjl Air Force in New Zealand and proceeded to England last October. He had been engaged on many R.A.F. operations since that time. He was educated at the Wairarapa High School and St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream.
