GOLD MINING RETURNS

Wellington Alluvials, Ltd., reports that during the four weeks ended March 29, the dredge worked 498 hours, handling 249,000 yards of material and recovered bullion estimated to contain 601 ounces of fine gold. Consequent on the change of course referred to in the last report, during the period a large percentage of the material handled continued to be tailings from previous dredging. The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Limited: —For the period ending April 5, comprising 20 crushing days, 15,396 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 4202 fine ounces of gold and 29,401 fine ounces of silver. Ninth level, Boxall reef: In the rise at the 30ft point the first 43ft is ore of good grade based on a stoping width of 4ft. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, April 21.
