MAGNIFICENT DEFENSIVE EFFORTS ADMISSIONS BY ENEMY PRISONERS. FEAR OF DOMINION TROOPS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 19. All reports from the Greek front continue to speak of the stout resistance that is being put up to the formidable German pressure backed by a weight of material greatly exceeding that available to the defence, Against such odds, it is frankly stated, both in Athens and London, the situation of the Greek forces and their allies, the forces of the British Empire, is extremely difficult but the latest reports received in Athens during the night are said 'to show that there is no sign of weakening in what, when the talc can be told, may prove to have been one of the great defences of military history. "While German and Italian officials show anger at the unexpected resistance by the Greeks before the overwhelming forces, they are broadcasting that the British are not fighting and are packing up. However the prisoners captured by the British hold a different view, and many who fought in Poland, the Low Countries, and France, admit that the British artillery and machine-gun fire is deadlier than anything they met before. They also said that the Dominion troops put the greatest fear into them.
