PERSONAL ITEMS

Miss Pam Smith, of Pahiatua, has joined the staff of the Auckland Hospital. Miss Phyllis Harman, Nelson, is staying with friends in Eketahuna. Mr and Mrs P. J. Borthwick, “Eridge,” Masterton, are visiting the South Island. Miss Joan McKenzie, Masterion, is visiting Anawaki Homestead, Queen Charlotte Sounds. Mr and Mrs S. R. Gawith, Upper Plain, have returned from a visit to Hawke’s Bay.

Mr and Mrs K. M. Montgomery, of Pahiatua, have now returned home after a holiday spent at Masterton. Miss Maunsell, Pownall, Street, Masterton, who has been visiting Eastbourne, has returned to Masterton. Mrs J. R. Nicholls, Bideford, has returned from a short visit to Wellington.

Mrs H. T. Wood, Eastbourne, is visiting Masterton. She was formerly a resident of the town.

Mrs R. A. Bunny and family, who have been spending Easter with Mrs O. A. Bunny, "Waipipi," have returned to Heretaunga.

Mr and Mrs G. S. Wilson and family, of “Matai,” Mauriceville, have returned home after a holiday spent at Raumati South.

The death occurred in Wellington this week of Mrs Edith Gendall. Born at Wakefield, Nelson, 73 years ago, Mrs Gendall was the daughter of Captain Cornelius Donald Raymond, of the Royal Navy, and granddaughter of Major Thomas Moore, of Queen Victoria’s Own Gordon Highlanders, India, who arrived at Nelson in 1842 as an officer of the emigration barracks.
