Montreal.—Meeting the increased demand for railway transportation created by war conditions, Canadian <- National Railways during 1940 added 2.760 new box cars, 500 fiat cars, JOO refrigerator cars. 30 mail, express and baggage cars, 150 ballast ears and 25 heavy duty steam locomotives to its fleet of equipment.
