IN RUSSIAN POLICY CONTINUANCE OF SUPPLIES FOR CHINA. ASSURANCE TO CHUNGKING. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) CHUNGKING. April 16. Moscow has assured Chungking that Soviet policy toward China has not changed, particularly regarding the continuance of supplies.

The “Niehi Nichi Shimbun" asserted that the Japanese Government was ready to dispose of pending diplomatic issues one by one with the new Soviet pact as a trump card. It said the Premier. Prince Konoye, was planning to re-examine all foreign policies after the return of the Foreign Minister. Mr Matsuoka.
"Paralleling the German advance in tlie Balkans and the bottling up of the British fleet in the Mediterranean by a blockade of Suez and the British Isles. Japan's greater East Asia policy will be pushed with renewed vigour." the paper said. It added that the Government, however. would continue.to push negotiations witli Washington making an effort “till the last moment" to avert further aggravation.
