SALE AT ADDINGTON LITTLE CHANGE IN VALUES. BRISK DEMAND FOR CATTLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, April 16. There was little change in values at today’s weekly Addington sale. Breeding ewe entries were smaller, but there was a minor easing of about Is a head. Good two-tooth Romneys from the south brought from 34s to 35s 6d. Chatham Island four-year ewes sold at 225, and local four and five-year ewes at 14s 6d. Store lambs were easier by Is a head, the best making 17s. High country station wethers in forward condition made up to 17s 3d. Fat lambs met with a keen market from exporters, and the trade at fully up to export schedule. A slightly heavier entry of fat sheep sold at a slight easing on the good rates of a week ago. Best wethers brought from 28s to 325, tops to 345, good 25s to 275; best ewes to 225, tops to 265 ; light 14s to 17s, and inferior down to 11s.
Fat cattle: Notwithstanding a heavy entry of 470 head, these met with a brisk market, values improving by 20s a head for primer sorts, and from 10s to 15s for others. Best bullocks made from £l6 10s to £l9, medium £l3 to £l6, best heifers £ll to £l4, medium £9 to £lO 10s, best cows from £lO to £l2 10s, extra prime cows to £l3 15s. Good beef brought up to 42s 6d per 1001 b, special sorts another shilling, and medium down to 345. Fat pigs: The sale was dragging, with porker values easier. Porkers made from 34s 6d to 53s 6d, at an average price per lb of 61d to 7d; baconers 54s (3d to £4 19s (3d, average per lb Gd to 6Jd. MASTERTON SALE COMPETITION GOOD. LATE VALUES RULE. Associated Auctioneers report as follows on their weekly Masterton sale held yesterday: A good entry of sheep came forward and, although the attendance was not large, competition i was good, and prices were well up to I those ruling of late. A good clearance was effected under the hammer, and the following principal sales will indicate values: —Good woolly wether lambs, 14s, 14s 7d to 14s lOd; medium woolly wether lambs, 10s 9d, Ils 7d to Ils 9d; good shorn wether lambs, 13s 8d to 14s; small shorn wether lambs, 7s 2d to 8s Id; cull lambs, 4s 6d to ss; heavy fat ewes, 12s to 12s 3d; fat. ewes, 8s 9d, 9s Id to 10s 4d; forward condition ewes, 7s.
