BIRTHDAY PARTY MISS I. BAILEY ENTERTAINED. (‘■Times-Age” Special.) An enjoyable time was spent in the Hamua Hall recently to celebrate the coming of age of Ina, the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Guy Bailey. Miss Ngaire. Corkhill, of Wellington, gave several singing and tap dancing items, and Mr Jack Husband, of Pahiatua, rendered two songs. After supper Mr D. Bourke proposed the health of the guest of the- evening, and congratulated her on attaining her majority. He asked her to accept the mafiy beautiful gifts brought by her friends.

Miss Bailey suitably replied. After the singing of "For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” Mt Bailey presented his daughter with a silver key set with stones. The toast of Mr and Mrs Bailey was proposed by Mr J. B. Carruthers, Mr Bailey replying. Personal Items. Miss I. Bailey and Miss P. Brown, of Hamua, will leave tomorrow to take up duties with the Women's Air Force Auxiliary at Rongotai.

Mr T. Metcalfe. Wanganui, is spending a holiday with his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Metcalfe, Church Street. There was a large number of relatives and friends at the railway station yesterday to bid farewell to Messrs W. Taylor, H. Goss, D. Fauvel, H. Boustead and D. Failover, who left for the Trentham Military Camp. Mr H. Husband left for Trentham Camp yesterday. He will be attached to the Dental Corp.
