LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

MONTHLY MEETING HELD YESTERDAY. The Masterton League of Mothers held its monthly meeting in the Parish Hal] yesterday afternoon. After the singing of a hymn and the saying of prayers, the president, Mrs L. B. Maunsell, asked all to stand as a mark of respect to the relatives of Mrs E. Pryor. The aims, objects and rules of the league were then read and the president reported on the provincial meeting held in Wellington last month. The speaker was the Rev. B. J. Williams, port chaplain, who spoke on the history of the missions to. seamen, on similar lines to an address given at today’s luncheon of the Masterton Rotary Club, a report of which occurs elsewhere in this issue. Mrs Moss sang two solos and the tea hostesses were members of the committee.
