LOST MOHAWK
SUNK IN VICTORIOUS ACTION. COMPLEMENT & ARMAMENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 1.5 p.m.) RUGBY. April 16. H.M.S. Mohawk, the British destroyer torpedoed and sunk when an enemy convoy of five transports and supply ships, escorted by three destroyers, was annihilated in the Mediterranean.' was a ship of 1.870 tons. She had a complement of 190 officers and men and was armed with eight 4.7 inch guns, seven smaller guns and four 21 inch torpedo tubes. She was damaged during a raid on the Firth of Forth in December. 1939. The Mohawk fast year was claimed as sunk by the Germans.
