WIDESPREAD HAVOC
CAUSED BY EARTHQUAKE IN MEXICO FIFTEEN THOUSAND HOMELESS IN COLIMA. MANY DEAD OR INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.-30 p.m.) MEXICO CITY, April 16. The latest reports of yesterday’s earthquake . indicate disturbance over a wide area. Colima, 275 miles west of Mexico City, suffered the severest damage. It is estimated that fifteen thousand people are homeless. Many are dead or injured. The Colima volcano re-erupted, causing forest fires.
Heavy casualties and destruction are feared in several other towns.
