WEDDING
BARNETT—LIPINSKI. (“Times-Age” Special.) On Monday last at St. Mary’s Church, Carterton, Phoebe Frances, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Lipinski. Carterton, was married to Cecil Edward, youngest son of Mr and Mrs S. Barnett, Nelson. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Connor.
The bride, who was attended by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin. The heart-shaped neckline was finished with diamante clips. Her embroidered tulle veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream roses, asters and maidenhair fern.
Miss Doreen Copeland, who was bridesmaid, was attired in a picture frock of forget-me-not blue taffeta, With a blue shoulder length veil, and a coronet of pink flowers. She carried a bouquet of pink dahlias and rosebuds. The bridegroom was attended bj’ Mr V. Lipinski, brother of the bride, as best man. Also in attendance were two little page boys, Kevin Sayer and Graham Lipinski, nephews of the bride. They were dressed alike in oyster blue satin suits.
After the ceremony a reception was held at St. Mary’s Hall where Mrs Lipinski received her guests wearing a floral frock with black accessories, and carried a bouquet of red dahlias. Mrs Barnett, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy costume and accessories to tone. Her bouquet' was of lemon dahlias. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horseshoe by her nephew Dennis Lipinski. Later the bride and bridegroom left for the South Island where the honeymoon will be spent, Mrs Barnett wearing a blue frock with navy accessories and a fur stole, the gift of the bridegroom.
