RANDWICK MEETING LUCRATIVE WINS SYDNEY CUP. PLATE TO TRIAD. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 14. Living up to Saturday’s good form Lucrative convincingly wen the Sydney Cup at Randwick today in record time. He was always near the front and simply made hacks of his nearest opponents in the run to the post. A surprising feature of the race was the veteran Hope’s defeat for second place of the good colt Pandect. Hope shaped badly in the weight-for-age race on Saturday, and nobody but his stable connections fancied him today. Veiled Threat, Mosaic and Katanga disappointed their backers, probably because of the hot pace set by Lady Buzzard. During the running Dollar fell and was killed. His jockey, V. Thompson. was critically injured. Results:— Easter Plate, for fillies, 7f: Triad, 8.12 (McFarlane) 1; Whisper Low. 8.7 (Bartie) 2; Steal On, 8.2 (Cook) 3. Won by a length and a half. Time. 1.26.
