WAIRARAPA V. HAWKE’S BAY WIN FOR VISITING TEAM. RAIN SPOILS PLAY. Rain spoilt play in the WairarapaHawke’s Bay senior match at Napier yesterday, stumps having to be drawn shortly after Wairarapa had continued their first innings. At the close of play on the first day Hawke’s Bay had compiled 186 runs, and Wairarapa had lost 3 wickets for 170.

When stumps were drawn yesterday Wairarapa had 210 up for the loss of 7 wickets (Roys 73. Coleman 73, A. Whiteman not out 19, W. Peterson 16, Bell 16).

Wairarapa thus won by 3 wickets and 24 runs.
