FINAL DAY AT TAU H EREN IK AU. CHIEF EVENT TO THE MONARCH. The final day of the Wairarapa Chib's autumn meeting was to some extent marred by the wintry conditions but in spite of this the totalisator figures were only down £723 for the two days. For the meeting £27.693 went through the machine as against £28,416 last year. The chief event for the day was won by The Monarch, who after trailing the field, came on the outside to win fairly comfortably. The sprint was accounted for by the Thompson Handicap winner. Augment, who led practically the whole way. An inquiry held after the main event resulted in Boldstep who finished third being placed second instead of Gay Fox. as a result of accidental interference. The results are as follow: — Moroa Hack Handicap, 7f: 5 Myrna Loy, 7.7 (T. Winiata) 1; 3 Roeon, 9.5 (F. M. Power) 2; 1 Sceptre, 8.7 (D. Kelly) 3.
