SOUTH FEATHERSTON

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION PAST YEAR'S OPERATIONS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual report of the South Featherston Home and School Association, which is signed by the secretary, Mr J. Wilton, stales inter alia:—-“Dur-ing the year the association provided the boys’ football team with fifteen jerseys to be the property of the school, the cost being £4 19s 2d. Presentations were made to Mrs Lumsden and Mrs Foss by members on their departure from the district. A presentation to Pte J. Bain was made in appreciation o£ his services to the social committee. A local lamb and calf judging competition was held at the school and a donation of £1 4s 6d toward the prizes was sent by our association. A successful bring-and-buy stall increased our funds by £1 4s 7d. The total amount expended during the year was £l9 10s 9d. With no outstanding liabilities we finish up the year with a credit balance of £2O ss. The points prizes.for the year were won as follow: Mrs Sorensen 1. Mrs B. Burt 2, Mrs A. Gain 3. The prizes were donated by Mrs Arch Clark, chairwoman of our association.” Euchre Party and Dance. At the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall on Wednesday night, the prize winners were: Ladies, Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs McCardle 2. Men, Mr L. Boyd 1, Mi’ Thompson 2. The Monte Carlo waltzes were won by Mr B. Dick and Miss Chisholm and Mr V. Bull and Miss J. Burt. The music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra and Mrs A. Gain played an extra. Mr D. Robertson was M.C. Personal Items. Miss Chambers, of Palmerston North, is staying with Mrs D. W. Burt, South Featherston. Mr R. Yule, of South Featherston, is spending a holiday at Blenheim. The Misses Yule have returned home after spending a holiday in Palmerston North.
