TENNIS TOURNEY
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION FIXTURES CHAMPIONSHIP AND HANDICAP COMPETITIONS. PLAY IN IDEAL WEATHER. Play was optional yesterday when the Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association’s Easter tournament opened in sunny weather on the United Club courts. Masterton. The sun and a brisk north-westerly breeze quickly dried overnight dew and the courts played well. The championship play produced no surprises. Today the weather is again fine but a strong northerly breeze blowing downcourt is likely to be troublesome. Championship results are:— MEN’S SINGLES. First Round. A. M. McCardle beat A.
