USE OF RED SEA
BY AMERICAN SHIPPING. AUTHORISED BY PRESIDENT. President Roosevelt, the 8.8. C. states, announced in Washington yesterday that the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden had been reopened to American shipping and that American ships would in future be able to use the Suez Canal. He indicated that the United States Government did not intend to explore the question of whether supplies consigned to neutrals would ultimately reach belligerents.
