masterton branch meeting. ACTIVITIES OF THE MONTH. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Plunket Society was held yesterday afternoon. Mrs J. Caselberg presided. There were also present: Mesdames S. L. P. Free. J. D. O'Connor. W. A. Michael. P. Nathan. T. Jordan, C. A. Carmine, J. Broad, N. Irwin. E. G. Norman. J. James, A. F. Stewart. J. V. Gordon, T. W. Riddell, and E. G. Eton. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames J. M. Coradine. D. Donald, T. F. Watson, and A. H. Falloon.

A motion of sympathy with Mr R. F. R. Beetham and family in their bereavement was passed. The president stated that Mrs Beetham had been an active member of the committee for many years and would be greatly missed. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect. Accounts for £74 9s were passed.

A letter was received from the Masterton Town Clerk, thanking the Society for its offer of help to the E.P.S. Committee should the necessity arise.

Leave of absence was granted to the president to enable her to visit her son in Sydney. A vote of thanks for gifts of infants’ garments and other gifts was accorded Mr J. Ninnes, Mesdames Daken, Allan, Holtham, M. Caselberg, D. Caselberg, and Mrs C. Cameron. The nurses’ report was as follows:— Masterton: Visits to office, adults. 423; babies, 411; pre-school children, 35; telephone, 156; total, 1025. Visits to homes, new cases, 31; old cases, 152; total, 185. Pre-school children seen in homes, 15. New cases chartered for month, town, 15; country, 1. Tinui subbranch: Annadale, Riversdale. Homewood, Blairlogie, Whareama, 1 visit each. Visits to new cases, 2; old cases, 28. Mauriceville sub-branch: Mauriceville East and West. Mangamahoe, Iharuhe Valley, 1 visit each; visits to homes, 27. Pre-natal section, visits, 9.
