WOMEN’S DIVISION
MASTERTON BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS At the monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union, Mrs. James presided over a small attendance of members. The secretary reported that £2l 16s had been raised at a specal shop day held at the Air Force shelter on March 19 in aid of the recent Queen Carnival. There was a-splendid array of vegetables in the competition which resulted as follows:—Six tomatoes, Mrs Macdonald 1 and 2; 3 beetroot. Mrs. James 1, Miss Harvey 2; 3 onions. Mrs. James 1, Miss Harvey 2; 6 potatoes. Mrs. Mcdonald 1 and 2. The flower competitions resulted: One bloom, Mrs Duckett 1, Mrs. Wrigley 2; 3 blooms, Mrs. Duckett 1, Mrs Wrigley 2; 6 blooms. Mrs Duckett 1, Miss Harvey 2. Mrs. Duckett won the flower points prize for the year. The annual meeting is to be held on April 17.
The hostesses were Mrs P. P. O'Brien and Miss Joan Wilton.
