AGAIN KIEL
MAIN TARGET OF BRITISH BOMBERS
BASE LEFT AS VAST CRATER OF DESTRUCTION.
MONDAY NIGHT'S RESULTS SURPASSED.
On Tuesday night the R.A.F’s. main attack was again directed at Kiel, states the 8.8. C. Very powerful forces of bombers produced results even more impressive than those of Monday night. The target area was left as one vast crater of destruction. Bremerhaven, Emden and Rotterdam were also attacked. AIR MINISTRY REPORT VERY POWERFUL FORCE j EMPLOYED. EXTENSIVE OPERATIONS IN DAYLIGHT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY. April 9. An Air Ministry communique.’ describing last night’s raid on Kiel, states: “A very powerful force of aircraft of the Bomber Command resumed the attack. The weather was ideal for the observation of results and many of the crews reported that these were even more impressive than on Monday night. “Bremerhaven. Emden and oil stor-, age tanks at’ Rotterdam were also raided during the night. “Aircraft of the Fighter Command carried out offensive patrols over aerodromes in Northern Franco.
"From these night operations, live aircraft of the Bomber Command are missing.
“During daylight yesterday, aircraft .of the Bomber and Coastal Commands attacked shipping at the Frisian Islands and objectives in occupied territory. None of our aircraft ai*O missing from these operations. Enemy fighters, which attempted to interfere, wore driven off.”
